FAUX LEDGE TRIM - Interior or Exteror Installation Guide

Helpful Reminder

Giving your panels time to acclimate ensures a smooth and successful installation. Store them flat in a designated area that's dry and free from direct sunlight or other heat sources for at least 24 hours. This step will help your panels adjust to the ambient temperature and humidity and minimize the risk of any issues during installation..

Warning:

- Before using any tools or equipment, make sure to read and understand all safety guidelines provided by the manufacturers.

- Wear safety glasses throughout the installation to avoid any potential harm to your eyes.

- Please ensure you comply with all the applicable building codes at the local, state, and federal levels.

- Always comply with clearances set forth by the manufacturer of stoves, fireplaces, furnaces, and any other heat source.

Before You Start

- Check that the wall you are working on is in good condition and structurally sound.
- The Ledge Trim is installed only after the completion of the panel installation.
- It is essential to install flashing before adding trim pieces for exterior installations.
- Gather all tools and materials.

     Note:
One (1) tube of construction adhesive is typically needed for every three (3) panels.
One (1) tube of textured caulk is typically needed for every four (4) panels.

Step 1 - Cut Ledge Trim

- Use a measuring tool to determine the length of the trim needed.
- Mark the trim based on your measurements, making sure to be as precise as possible.
- Use a cutting tool to cut the trim to the correct length.

Pro Tip: With just a little extra effort, you can create a beautifully visible grout line by simply trimming an additional 1/16 inch off of the ledge trim.

Step 2 - Apply Adhesive

- Using a clean cloth, gently wipe the back of the panel to remove any debris.
- Place the ledge trim onto a soft surface and apply two adhesive beads to the back in vertical lines.

Step 3 - Install Ledge Trim

- Press the ledge trim firmly into place to ensure good contact between the adhesive and the wall.
- For secure ledge trim, place screws every 16 inches on the trim, slightly recess them and avoid over-tightening.

Pro Tip: Screws can be concealed by inserting them at an angle from the sides or the bottom. This is referred to as "toe-screwing".

Finish Touches

- Apply caulk to mitered joints, gaps, and holes from screws. Remove excess caulk before drying for a seamless finish.

Touch-Up Kit

- Apply a thin layer of base coat and allow it to dry completely for approximately 30 minutes.
- Apply the appropriate paint colors, then gently blend with a soft cloth. Allow it to dry completely for about 30 minutes.
- If your touch-up kit contains a wash, apply it with a paintbrush and blend by dabbing with a soft cloth.
